Sunday Dinner

We had friends Marion and Phil round for dinner yesterday-havent had much chance to see them for ages with one thing and another so it was lovely to get together again.
Bill did all the meal preparations as normal bless him , hes a great cook!
The menu was Roasted leg of pork with roasted vegetables-parsnip, swede, carrots, potatoes, butternut
squash and onions-then there was boiled new potatoes and broccoli! The roasted veg are healthy and so tasty and the gravy is to die for after all the flavours mingle together!
After we had weight watchers strawberry cheesecake and chocolate brownies with fresh strawberries and low fat cream-delicious!
Aftewards I shared with Marion my favorite special drink -Tia Maria and Bailys over ice-something my sister had had on holiday and which I thought sounded gross-until I tyred it-its gorgeous and is something to have when you want a real treat!
I love preparing the table for a special meal-and managed to create a lovely vase with roses, grasses and twisted hazel from the garden.
The white roses always look like they have been splattered with pink paint-they are beautiful!
I got on and did the tidying up /dusting in the house that had been neglected for a while!
The parrots create loads of dust due to their feathers, and throwing their food around--you can hoover 3 times a day and theres still a mess on the carpet at bedtime!
But if you have pets you have to put up with these things, and they are worth all the mess they make!
Sparky cat has been to the vet tonight with an abcess on his head-he has been fighting again-you would think he would learn by now!
Another 2 injections and hopfully he should be ok-and keep out of scapes!
