Class Of October 18th-Winter Wonderland

We will be doing a version of Winter Wonderland on Sat Oct 18th.
Some of the Ladies Of Sundorne Wi will be coming down to do the class.
This is one of the paintings that I did for the demonstration when I was there earlier this year.
There is possibly a couple of places left for this class-but the WI is having a meeting tomorrow, so the places might be filled by Friday.

Class of August 9th--Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland is a popular subject--we use a black canvas to start with--something I find is easier for some students who are particularly nervous!
You will learn to use several techniques, brushes and other materials .
This painting is suitable for all abilities from first timers to more experienced artists.
If you would like to join this class please get in touch via the website http://www.paintingmyway.co.uk
Please note there are only 4 places left for this class

Todays Class

We had a real laugh as usual today in class, everyone except Wendy (2nd on left in pic) had been before.
Wendy is 'mad Michelles' friend!!!. When I said to her ''no-one will belive you have painted that painting first time in less than 4 hours''she replied ''I cant belive Ive painted it myself!!''
She seemed to find it really easy and got on with it all with no visable nerves!!
Michelle was presented with her 'advanced students brooch' today.
All students that attend my classes 6 times receive an appropriate brooch-the gents get a palette one complete with little brushes and little tubes of paint hanging from it and the ladies get a charming little lady painting away on her easel.
Chris and Pauline have been 3 times now and really love the relaxed atmosphere, they went away with joining forms to join the SAA and also a full kit of artists materials-including a table easel, paints, brushes and palette knives.
The few things that I haven't in stock at the moment they can order from the SAA and will be delivered on Monday.
I also gave them a copy of the Painting My Way techniques that I have printed off for all my students to give them a helping hand when starting to paint at home.
Michelle was also going home to do some more paintings too, will be interesting to see how she does.
We will see Michelle again next week, maybe she will bring along some of her work that she has done at home.

Waterfall class

We had a lovely relaxed class today.
Everyone had been before to my classes and some had met each other at previous classes.
We didn't get started painting right a way-as usual in the classes we all have to put the world to rights first-then Jan finished preparing the canvas with linseed oil for me while I checked that we all had the correct colours on the palette!
We had some beautiful waterfall's , each one different to the rest-its always amazing just how different they can be-just a little more pressure on the brush when putting in the waterfall can completely change the finished effect.
The sky's were very dramatic , some did not need a moon adding in at the end-they already looked like there was a moon behind the clouds!!!
Jan's and Jacks were really striking skies!
Everyone is getting excited about the forth coming exhibition--many thanks to Sharleen for offering to pick up Jan and bring her to the opening night-
I have ordered the extra frames that students want for their paintings and they will be ready for the exhibition.
