Reeds In The Breeze--(private class) May 14th

Today's class had been booked a while back by 11 members of the same family-- 4 adults and 7 children. The subject --Reeds In The Breeze allows lots of scope to be different--important if there are to be several paintings hanging in the same house! Some of the children enjoyed dancing around and having fun while we were getting the combinations of colours sorted out before the start of the workshop!
Jessica was one of the youngest students today-just 7 years old-she liked the purple version and chose to do that!
We had a first today- a triptych done in class by three members of the same family---mum ,dad and daughter Julia worked very hard to get everything lined up perfectly-they started off on easels and ended up having the canvas laid down flat as it made life much easier. You would not believe that the end work of art had been done by 3 different people---it really was stunning!
Anna made a beautiful job of her painting-she used blue and purple and created a wonderful sky-and reflected the colors into the water perfectly..
Barny is just 8 years old created a great sky very quickly--and had a very bold style--he wasn't afraid of the paint at all--he is adding the hills in the distant very well here
Emma age 7 came along with her Mum Helen, Dad Stuart, and sisters Anna age 11 and Julia 13--it was quite amazing to see how quickly Emma had her sky and water done--everyone laughed at the bashing brushes and tickling brushes but they all found it easy to understand ....
Alison managed to get black paint on her face---the kids thought it was highly amusing!
Stuart, Helen and daughter Julia worked well together and had every aspect of the painting correct--they made sure the sky, water and foreground all matched up with each others--wonderful results--I'm sure they will get many comments about them when they are hung up in their home!
Hope Ive got the names correct.....Anna 11, Emma 7,  Jessica 7  Benjamin 10 and Barnaby age 8
Lovely results everyone---
Nicki , Jessica and Matt with their masterpieces
I had a lovely time with everyone today-- we had a lot of laughs---a few hard bits---mainly using the knife! But the end results were all brilliant---everyone put in their own bit of their personality ...great fun!
