GRRRRRRRRR

I have had a shitty sort of week this last week...I have waited for 3 huge canvas to arrive so I can start the biggest commission ever--9 ft by 4ft 6in --they failed t arrive as promised and I'm still waiting.... then I had a delivery of paint by DPD couriers--I now have a purple and pink driveway and wheelie bin...

looks like it had been dropped--and not enough packing around the bottles..

Add caption
Then another delivery -again by DPD some huge canvas screens --with a hole all the way through the packing and screens--

its just beyond a bloody joke...

I will defiantly never ever use DPD for delivering any of my paintings....looks like they play football with the parcels...I just hope it isn't them bringing my big canvas...

Mystical Moon Workshop

First workshop of the year and we had 6 first timers out of the 10 students! Liz-above had been once before and painted in oils so completely new for her using acrylic!

First time for Jan on left  who came along with Phil and wife Pauline who were painting for the 3rd time..Jan was a little nervous-which is natural when doing something new-but she soon settled down and got the hang of the brushes and paint!

Pauline chose the blue shades to paint her picture-- there are quite a few variations of colour that can be used in this workshop..

Becky came along for the first time with Dawn-also first time and Kate who was painting for the 3rd time with me.. Becky is expecting a baby boy in just 5 weeks so she had the option of a sitting down easel..

Very interesting to see how the different colours work..

sorry Kate--you are a little blurry here! Love your chocolate shades you chose to do your painting with..

Nikki bought along her Mum -first time for both,, and both have booked u for the Birches at the end of the month- will look forward to seeing them both then!

Hahaha--say one for me while you are down there! Sometimes its just easier to get on your knees!

adding the twigs is always interesting--and everyone improves with each one they do.. by the time they get up to the moon they are all quite expert!

Gill is adding her twigs and branches here..she seemed to find it quite easy...

Sharon adding the finishing touches.

Well done everyone--great results!!

Mystical Moon Wokshop

Polly came along with her Auntie Sam-1st time for her-lovely shades of purples! No sign of nerves from her!
Kirsty chose shades of purple for her painting..it never fails to amaze me how different the paints can turn out ,even when using the same colours!

Kirsty's mum Helen added just a touch of  dark pink to hers...

Sam chose the grey shades...and used a metallic red at the end which made it look very Japanese..

Alice came along with her mum and Nan..she really did well--blended the colours well..and did lovely branches.

Margaret created a lovely background very quickly...very atmospheric..

Sara chose the grey shades--amazing effects...photos don't do the paintings justice at all!

say one for me while your down there!

Beautiful paintings ladies--well done!

Poppy Field Workshop

We had 10 students on Saturday-4 had been once before and the other 6 were new students...

Phil-on the left and his lovely wife Pat next but one..have been once before to paint Serenity--Phil and Pat wanted to surprise their friends Milly,Heather Trevor and Cyril, and when they arrived they had no idea what they were going to do--Phil had suggested all sorts of things--including a bungee jump lol! They were very dubious when they realised they were going to paint--as is natural of course--but everyone was relieved to find it quite an easy process even though I had lost my voice the day before and was struggling to 'shout'  step by step instructions. It did give everyone a laugh though!

Evelyn and Alan on the left have been once before with gift vouchers and came for the second time with gift vouchers--the gift vouchers have proved very popular over the years, and make a great pressie for Christmas, birthdays or any other occasion.Carol and Julie have painted before , we met in Kinver earlier in the year--both loved the workshop and said they had learned a lot from it..

What lovely results we had from everyone--all went away happy with their results-and in a few cases gobsmacked at what they had achieved in just a few hours! I will look forward to seeing them all again!

Mystical Moon--workshop on 25th Oct

Due to a glitch on my website the Oct 25th workshop Mystical Moon has not been showing up on there until tonight! You will have a choice of colours for it--blues,purples,greys and the new brown and cream...

We use some beautiful metallic paint to highlight the foliage, and the moon and stars are created with some sparkly paint-it does not show up great in the photos!

As you can see from these previous workshops--the results are just great-every time!

there is a new brown/cream version now too..

Mystical Moon Workshop

Mystical Moon workshop..photo's don't show up the beautiful colours chosen by the students..
Anna used the lovely purples and pinks/blues to create her painting...very mystical when it was finished!

Evelyn and Ann came a long way today..from Rhyl, and St Asaph.Evelyn chose the blue shades-and used the metallic shades of blue and silver for the foliage.it looked beautiful when it was dry..hard to believe that Evelyn had not painted before!

Loved Jan's  combination of grey background and violet and gold foliage--will nick that combination at some point LOL!!

Jodie came along with her Mum- Helen who was painting her 5th painting...she wanted to do a sunset painting rather than a moonlight one...and it worked lovely--had to send Bill home for some yellow paint as I had not taken any with me for this workshop! But this is one of the quickest paintings we do in class and we were still finished on time.Wonderful results first time!!

Helen has been 5 times--artist brooch next time Helen! She chose to do the grey background but asked if she could use all of the different coloured metallic paint for her foliage.. I was not sure if it was going to work or not.but as you can see from the picture below it worked so well...blue,copper,gold,green,red,violet,silver,

you would never know this was Ann's first time painting would you? Beautiful results
Great fun and great results..well done everyone xx

Mystical Moon Workshop jan 12th 2013

As there were only 4 students today I did the workshop at my home...

Jenny adding her moon....I think this is the hardest part of this painting! They do tend to keep getting bigger and bigger as they try and correct the circle!

2nd time for Tracey...

and Deb should have had her Artist brooch a few pictures ago --but Bill couldnt find them when when he had a look in the van quickly---will make sure I have it ready for her next time she comes!

We met Cathy when we were setting up the exhibition at Bishops Castle--first time for her and she loved it--

Cathy is adding her branches and foliage here--and what a great job she made of it...she decided against adding the metallic paint at the end-and she bought some varnish from me so when she gives the painting a couple of coats it will bring the colours right out.

Jenny wanted to try something different-and she did a couple of branches in silver paint--after standing back and thinking about it we both decided it didnt work! But it was soon put right with a coat of black paint over the top--if you dont try these things you never know though do you?

Tracey could see how her branches improved with each one she painted!

Deb is nearly finished here...lovely result!

Great paintings ladies!
