Workshop of Dec 11th --Poppy Fields

We had fantastic results today in the workshop-hard to believe they were all first timers except for Maureen-who received her artist brooch for achieving 6 paintings with me
A family affair---Linda, Sarita, Hayley and Chris -what beautiful results
Carla, Lisa, Stewart and Maureen--very different -but all very good--its so interesting to see how everyone tackles it!
Bill bought some raffle tickets at Helena Lane last time we were there--he was lucky enough to win this lovely hamper of wines and glasses--we will put them up for Christmas-and enjoy them then!

Sale

While sorting out paintings etc to take to the Shobdon Food and Drink Festival, I found I had a few paintings that had been hanging around for a while.
So I have decided to have a sale and will be creating a new Sale gallery on my websites www.paintingmyway.co.uk and www.dianetheartist.com
I will try and load the paintings on there tomorrow-as Im off to hospital for my op on Wednesday-not sure how soon I will be able to get back to normal after so will and get most everything done that I can tomorrow and be able to relax after the op.
Prices will be better than half price and starting at around £50
Have a look and see if there is anything you like and grab yourself a bargain!
Everything from seascapes to abstracts will be on there!

Looking Forward!

We are off on our holidays tomorrow after we have finished in the Birch Tree Class.
We have 14 coming to paint-and most of them are doing the 36in x 14in canvas so it will probably take a little longer than normal to do!

I have my niece Natalie coming to help me by holding the paint pots for the splattering bits and also collecting the sponges to wash etc.

Bill will be able to go off and do the last minute jobs that need to be done then!

My darling friend Jeannie is here to look after all the menagerie of parrots, cat and fish-Bill fetched her this afternoon.
Jake, Paddy and Sparky will be spoiled rotten by her as usual-they are all excited to see her as soon as she comes.
Bill has been and bought some of the birds favorite shortbread biscuits ( they are not spoiled much!) and I daresay they will have more than their normal 1/4 of biscuit each day while Jeannies here.
The fridge was stocked up with goodies for them all to enjoy while we are away! Its quite a joke when we go shopping-there is more bought for the cat and birds than for us!
Grapes, biscuits, cheese, marmite, apples and best ham--all for the pets!

Im very impressed with Bluestone Park customer service (where we are going Mon-Fri) we recieved an email from them yesterday saying dont bother to shop before you arrive-just tick the items on the shopping list attached and they will have all the items ready in the chalet when we arrive! So we did that-and are looking forward to the ribeye steak , sausage and dry cured bacon delivered fresh from the butchers when we arrive there!
We are stopping in St Clears for the first 2 nights, Bluestone Park for 4 nights and then a friends static caravan for 2 nights in Aberystwyth so it will be a lovely break.
We will be meeting up with an artist friend Steve who we last saw a couple of years ago which will be lovely!
I am off to bed now--morning will be here before we know it--will be a long day!

Lovely Time

We have had a lovely time this weekend, we are staying at the Barons Court Hotel-a beautiful Edwardian arts and crafts building.
Lots and lots of original features here-the whole place has a feeling of tranquility and peacefulness.
Lots of ambient lighting-candles are lit everywhere as soon as it starts to get dark-all of which adds to the atmosphere.
Keith who runs the hotel is just brilliant-nothing is to much trouble for him at all.

Its rare for a hotel to allow you to bring your own drinks, but its encouraged here, and the hotels lounge is the perfect place to relax in the evening and have a drink and watch TV or just chat.

We had a massive full English today and it kept us going until early evening when we went out for dinner-steak with all the trimmings and garlic butter for me and roast beef for Bill- then we couldn't resist the sweet platter-the chocolate brownies were naughty but nice-and it is my birthday and wedding anniversary after all!
Back to the strict diets tomorrow when we get back home. Off to do some retail therapy tomorrow, got some things to pick up from Marks and Spencers that I ordered off the internet and had delivered to the local store here-then home to catch up with everything!
