class of May 3rd --Emerald Woods

This painting has just 2 places left-its a very popular one and quite easy to do.A lot of scope for individual personalities to shine through!

Please get in touch via the website if you would like to join the class.
www.paintingmyway.co.uk
Check out my 'snaps' pages on my site to see all my happy students with their paintings---you will see that many of my students come back time after time--my classes get booked up very quickly and I have a waiting list for some subjects.

The classes are very friendly, laid back and informative at the same time- great fun and a beautiful painting to take home as well!
Take a look at the guest book to see what some of the students have said about the classes as well!

I have kept my prices the same for the past 4 years--£35 which includes all materials used in class. We paint on a high quality box canvas which does not need framing-although if you wish to do so we supply a lovely frame to match your painting for just £12. Great Value!

"Pucking Fuzzled"

This is the latest in my "manic " series.
The title was suggested by the guy who commissioned the painting,he thought the whole series of painting titles was hilarious (Mucking Fuddled/Get A Wobble On -etc )and came up with "Pucking Fuzzled" for his painting.

I encourage people to think of a personal title for the painting when they have commissioned it--it adds a personal touch when the painting is for a present.
The title of the last "summer day" commission includes the name of the puppy owned by the gentleman who the painting is for.

I have had a very enjoyeable day doing the Pucking Fuzzled pic-starting early this morning -having a break in between and finishing it off this afternoon/evening.I love watching these paintings evolve-each layer adds character to it.I havent used much of the vibrant green in this painting because the commissioner wasnt keen on it.

New Bathroom

Its been a busy week for us-my son has had to get a new bathroom suite because the old plastic bath had started leaking.
Of course they had to call on Bill to help, so we have been round there most of the week-hence not much happening on the blog!

My 2 old girls -Smoky and Gizmo my 20 year old burmese cats have loved having us there-they have have bucket loads of fuss-and extra food treats! You would never belive they were 2o years old to see then running around.
Gizmo is at the front of this pic and Smoky behind her.
They are tiny little things compared to our Sparky and they are very vocal and talk a lot in their own way!

New Home

We have spent the day helping my daughter Beckie and her boyfriend Wayne to move house-the weather was better than forcast-thank goodness.
They have worked very hard to get it as they want it-every room had to be decorated, it has been painted white all through-though it dosent look white on this photo of Beckie in her new front room!
Im sure they will be very happy in their new home and we wish them all the best for the future.

Ashford And Caynham WI

We had a lovely turn out on Wednesday night, the hall was packed with interested people. As you can see from the photo, there was an interesting backdrop on the stage, a painted scene of mountains!
I started the night with a demonstration on a black canvas--using transparent blue paint ,I started painting on the canvas--of course no one could see anything until I started putting on the white paint---then there were lots of oohhs and aaaahhhhs as it quickly developed into a snow scene.Using the same brushes but this time on a white canvas I painted the ever popular Summer Day painting. This is one of the most popular painting's that I do in class, and it always goes down well at the demos too.
Ann Tyler won the raffle and she chose" Summer Day"--she has just moved into the area from the seaside and she said it reminded her of where she had lived.
I donated "Winter Wonderland" to the WI to use for raising money for their chosen charity.

Trine

Well more congratulations to my dear artist friend in Norway--Trine.

She been asked to write a monthly piece for her local paper.
Her first one was published today.
You can view her daily blog here on this link
http://mtv65.blogspot.com/
She sells her work all over the world, it is much different to my style -she works in chinese inks and paper a lot, although she has started using her encaustic waxes again.
We had such fun when she came over in 2006 and stayed with us for week.I am sure that 2008 is going to be a fantastic year for her.

WI Demo

I have the first of the WI demo's today. We are busy sorting everything out to take.It seems ages since I have done one of these, Im really looking forward to it.
It is not far from home, this time just 10 minutes away, so that makes a real change! We are usualy traveling for miles to do them.
It will be hard going after the meeting--there is usualy a delicious spread of sandwiches and cakes--will be very trying on the old willpower tonight!

Weight Watchers

Well Ive gone back to weight watchers after quite a break--things were getting quite busy on the run up to Christmas and I havent been there since Oct.
I was expecting to have put on much more weight than I had--just 7 1/2lb .Which when you consider all the goodies we had over Christmas is good going!
So its time to knuckle down to it again-all the temptations have gone to my friends and its back to the sensible eating once more!!!
We are having a lovely piece of salmon for tea with jacket spud and peas-havent had that for ages and Im really looking forward to it!

FANTASTIC DAY!!!!!!

Well I am so glad we braved the snow yesterday, we had a fantstic day.
I sold my Poppy Quartet painting and have been commissioned to paint it again for someone else!

I always demonstrate when I am doing shows, and my party trick is to paint a landscape from start to finish in just 4 minutes, there are gasps from people watching as the picture forms before their eyes ! I love to show people just how easy oil painting can be, and it pays dividends reallly because they book up to come to my classes after. It sounds as if I will have some demonstrations to do for an art club and another ladies group too, so all in all a great day, and a nice cheque for the Heart Foundation!
