BBQ.s

It was lovely to have our friends Marion and Phil round Sunday afternoon for a BBQ..the weather forecast was wrong for a change and the sun was shining! The summer house has been cleared out in preparation for our BBQ for our friends off the market which we will be having soon....and it gave me chance to try out the Pimms  recipe before then too! never tryed it before but we all loved it--one bowl was not enough and the rum punch I made after this went down well too!
Loads of kebabs--yummmmmm
and loads of lovely healthy salads too to counteract the booze LOL
This lovely little munchkin called by with his mummy and daddy too--but he didn't wake up bless him!
Bills Gunneria plant is bigger than ever this year.....its getting a good soaking every other day when Bill does the filter in the fish pond on the upper level of the garden-and its making a huge difference. We had the tea lights burning on the windowsill on the summerhouse and it lit up the backs of the leaves beautifully...
The chimanea was fired up and the heat it throws out is unreal--it was quite a few feet away from the summer house but it warmed us up lovely....nothing like listening to UB40 and watching the flames while having a great laugh with friends! We don't do it often enough! The time went sooo quickly....

BBQ

We had a beautiful evening last night-my daughter and partner came round and we had a scrummy BBQ out on the patio.
Some big juicy pork chops , sausage and garlic bread went down a treat with some salad and spicy cous cous.
The wine flowed and we laughed all night!
Jake thought it was funny and joined in with hysterical laughter which made us laugh even more!
When we feed the fish in the pond we throw the food onto the lily pads-which are massive this year-its great fun to see their heads pop out of the water to see where the food is-then they throw them selves at the pads to get the food--Im too slow with the camera to catch them right out of the water-especially after a few wines!

I have just got to confirm the dates and I will let you know as soon as I have them. I will be emailing all the interested parties first who have already got in touch and then putting the details up for everyone else. It promises to be a great event-and we re looking forward to it immensely!!!!

Ive Lost------

Had a great surprise when I went to weight watchers yesterday--Ive lost 5lb !!!! Im a happy bunny now--although after the beautiful spread ( the coffee and walnut cake in particular!) we had at the WI yesterday I may have put a Lb back on!

Just checked and and Ive lost another LB !

Im going to try really hard to shift some more before we go on the Painting holiday at St Audries Bay. I will without doubt put some on while there-the food is second to none and 3 courses every night--there is aways a salad option but the other stuff always smells and looks so nice it will be hard to resist it!

BBQ

Well after a morning mooching at the car boot sale, we decided to hold a family bbq, so we rushed off to the supermarket to stock up with steak and burgers, I have made some of my celery, nut, apple and sultana colslaw and Bill has made his own colslaw cos he dont like celery!
I have also made a delicious mango and tomato sweet chilli salsa to go with it all--I think the diet has gone out of the window this weekend somehow-but you have to make the most of this weather!!
Off now to prepare some more food!

Meet Gertie!

This is our latest caravan Gertie. She is a little younger than Bessie, and came with a much bigger awning, thus giving us more storage space-essentual when we go off for the 2 and 3 day craft fairs. She has the all important wine glass cabinet with stained glass doors and is really immaculate inside and out.I just know that me and Bill will have a lot of fun in her!

Festival Night

The weather forcast is good for the weekend so we will be shopping after the class tomorrow for some BBQ food for Sunday Night.
We are at the craft fair on Sunday and as it is the last day of the festival it should prove to be very busy.
We will be inviting friends around for drinks and food Sunday night and we will be able to hear the Robbie Williams and Kylie sound alikes and see the grand firework display with ease from our patio.
I cant wait--its seems ages seen we had a BBQ due to the awlful weather so its something to look forward to!
