The Big Day--Becki's Wedding--Friday 6th March

Well we are all recovering from the most wonderful wedding you could imagine! Everything went to plan more or less in the run up..

Me and Becki spent 5 evenings making yards and yards of vintage style bunting to hang in the room...its a traditional village hall-lots of dark wood --but it was amazing how the bunting just brightened it right up-- I want to thank everyone who came out on the day before to help us get the room done--it was so much fun ,having a laugh as we sorted out tables, tablecloths, bunting crockery etc..
sort of halfway there on this pic...

The sweet shop proved very popular--and not just for the kids either lol--- amazing how many adults love Haribo's etc..
Once the chair covers went on and the antique lace sashes the room was really transformed..
Afternoon tea ..loved all the vintage crockery, everything was perfect -even down to the sugar cubes and tongs...cream and jam bowls.... the people who organise bookings for the hall took photos of the room once it was set up to use on their website as they were so impressed with it...and to be honest I think we were all surprised at how different it looked when we had finished!
we had loads of lovely things dotted around the room such as this one above...
On the morning of the wedding while my lovely Bill was racing round getting last minute things picked up and delivered to the room, me and Becky opened the pink champagne while we were having our hair done..
Quite an experience for me--2nd time in over 15 years anyone else has done my hair--but a lovely job was done and it didn't move until Sunday afternoon!
Bella and Dottie the bridesmaids waiting for their hairdo's...
Dom the wedding photographer was a star--this was one of the more unusual positions he was in lol...I made Becki's bouquet out of brooches and buttons,,and he took some unusual angle shots of it in my hallway..
Becki wanted 'bo-ho'style hair with gypsophia and mini daffodils in it.--she got just what she wanted--and it looked beautiful
One of the most special moments for me was lacing Becki into her dress--shame there are no photos of it--but here she is with the bridesmaids--about to leave the house...I can't believe it was their 10th anniversary since they met..where has the time gone?
Becki had a few tears when she got to the door and saw the vintage Bentley waiting for her-it was a complete surprise for her-she was expecting a bog standard car from one of Wayne's workmates!
Wayne's mum Sandra was in charge of getting Tommy and his cousin Josh ready -- they all looked stunning ...and she had her hands really full...
Arriving at Ludlow Castle with her Dad -where she and Wayne were to get married,,
Becki's brother Jim had his 5th chemo the day before the wedding and was advised by his specialist not to attend the wedding as he is very susceptible to germs because he has no white blood cells...but he came to have some photos taken outside with her as there was less risk...it really made her day..and mine...
arriving at the end of the aisle--she came in to Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra...she is looking round at Tommy who decided it looked like a good idea to have a ride down the aisle on her train....
It was a very emotional ceremony--but I didn't expect Becki to cry LOL--but she did bless her...I was there with the tissues for her though ...
I love this photo of them--the beaming smile on Wayne's face says it all....
Love em both xx
They had their Nans as witness's -which was lovely.
Tommy and Josh found they could open the confetti LOL...
So Happy..
Munchkin enjoying the confetti!
Don't know what I would have done without my Bill--he has been so patient bless him--I think I have been more stressed than Becki on the run-up to the wedding but he has taken it all in his stride and calmed me down when necessary LOL.
Becky and my lovely mum x
The happy family..
Yes--she really did wear Converse trainers under that very expensive  dress...
she said she wanted to be comfy day and night--she has a lucky sixpence on her laces...
The Ludlow Castle is a beautiful setting...cant wait to see the professional photos!
Love my girl xx
The bridesmaids having fun...
you can see the train to its best here...
As well as a traditional wedding cake they had a cheese wedding cake-- and as a surprise I had some characters models made of Becki ,Wayne and Tommy made as cake toppers...the detail Laura put in was amazing...even down to the button bouquet..and Becki's hair
The cake was decorated after with grapes and celery...
Tommy loved the cheese crackers..
Becki seeing the topper for the first time--she loved it!
Scones with fresh cream, jam, sandwiches and fancy cakes--proper afternoon tea.....
Munchkin ...
Grandad Bill gave him his spaghetti hoops lol..
Their tradition wedding cake was just beautiful...
Cutting the cake...
Cutting the cheesecake...
The paper tealight candles holders looked stunning on the path up to the room..
I found this lovely poem on the Internet and got it printed off on the morning of the wedding and framed to put by the postbox for their cards...
First dance...
and then my girl strutted her stuff LOL
The band had everyone up dancing all night--though were a little loud for us 'older'ones... luckily there was room next door to escape to..
Becki and Wayne had these as wedding favours--a lovely touch as Becki's brother Jim is fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma..pink stones for the ladies and blue stones for the gents...
Becki's step mum Nancy did the flowers for the tables--and decorated the vases etc to match Becki's vintage theme with lace and sacking...
loved the flowers..we took the bigger flower display up to Dads grave the following day..
We had little munchkin while Mummy and Daddy had a short break to Bath to see The Levellers in concert...he was as good as gold bless his little heart--though he has given us his latest bug--inevitable really when he goes to nursery-he will get all the bugs going--and I will catch them off him because my immune system is shot due to being on the steroids...never mind--its a small price to pay for such a perfect weekend!
