Medieval Fair

It was the annual Medieval Fair at the weekend and we were up bright and early to go down to the market and set up....We took the stall out to make it a walk in stall and give us a little more room..
with 2 large tables inside there was lots of room to display all the little paintings as well as the bigger ones on the racking...
also had room on the outside to display the prints etc on the table..
Bill on Ye Olde Laptop  LOL
he couldn't resist a huge lump of bread pudding off some of the regulars who come to the market....
I was surprisingly warm in my dress-though I did have my warm leggings on underneath--and my hair down to keep my neck warm!
My friend Jane had a stall opposite selling her beautiful paintings...she does a lot of animal paintings....
We had a walk through town later to have a meal at the pub...couldn't believe how quiet the town was then after being so hectic all day-all looking pretty and festive though!

Latest Cards

I have a new card range in time for Christmas..taken from some original photos taken of the snow and frost last year. My lovely , very patient friend Lin has turned some of the snaps into wonderful Christmas cards for me...I'm chuffed to bits with them! Lin always gets my cards done in record time for me--for some reason the cards always run out all at once and I end up sending an order for 100 cards at a time--poor Lin works very hard to get them done for me bless her . They have proved to be popular on Facebook and I have lots of orders for them as I haven't enough here left at the moment...they are left blank inside so could be used for other occasions as well as Christmas..they are all of views around Ludlow so will be popular with locals and visitors alike.Above is the classic view of Ludlow taken from Whitcliffe--showing the castle, St Laurences Church and Clee Hill

The sun setting behind these frosty bushes look like they are on fire...

Ludlow Town. We are on the market tomorrow and Sunday and then the next 2 Wednesdays--then we pack up the markets until April.. as its so cold up there..It will be lovely to have some time at home to catch up with some new painting ideas for workshops! The cards are available from me at the markets and will be avaialble on my website www.paintingmyway.co.uk shortly..

Welland Steam Rally, Nr Malvern

I cant believe how quickly the year has gone by since we were at Welland Steam Rally .
We are off there again on Thursday-the show runs on Fri, Sat and Sunday. There will be lots going on there for all of the family.

I will be in the craft marquee on all 3 days painting in oils, acrylic and encaustic wax.

I have stocked up with my new greetings cards ready for this busy event--Lin who does them for me got 100 in the post to me--she has done some lovely new ones that sold out last week on Ludlow market.
I must get some photos on here of them.Lin makes a beautiful job of them for me.
We are staying in The Abby hotel in nearby Malvern instead of taking the caravan--I thought it was a better idea after having my operation so recently.

There is no electric hook up for the caravan at the show , and the hotel has a great deal on with a 'body and soul break' so we will combine the work and holiday.

Take a look at the steam rally website for more details of whats going on there.

New Place To Stay In Ludlow

Ive had an email from a lady Doreen who lives in Wales--she was in Ludlow at the weekend and saw my display in Windlight shop.
She has always wanted to paint and is treating herself to a class in October for her 74th birthday.

As she lives so far away she wants to come down on the Friday previous and wanted me to recommend somewhere for her to stay.
I have found the perfect place for her--The Mount, 61 Gravel Hill, Ludlow, Shropshire , Sy8 1qs
phone 01584 874048
It comes highly recommended on Trip Advisor prices start at just £27.50 for twins, doubles and £30 for singles.
www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186367-d654323-Reviews-The_Mount_Guest_House-Ludlow_Ludlow_Union_Shropshire_England.html
I already have a few campsite recommendations on my website so have added the B+B details as well.
When I spoke to the owner earlier she admitted she had always wanted to learn to paint-so she may well be coming along to a class as well.
We are calling round to see them next week and drop off some of my leaflets-they are going to show us round the rooms-they have a ground floor room as well which is handy if you are not so able bodied. They do a great breakfast and cater for all diets-nothing is too much trouble and it sounds like a lovely place to stay!

Sunshine Series

I am painting a new series of paintings at the moment--its going to be called my "Sunshine Collection" All of the paintings will follow a theme of bright, warm sunshine colours, warm yellow, reds, and oranges. They will brighten up any wall you care to hang them! If you have an idea for a painting in these theme, please get in touch and I will create what you have in mind.
''I Stand Alone'' is the first in this series. The silhouette of a solitary tree, which is reflected into the shimmering water. The water has been painted using a special shimmering paint in gold and red-its transparent but adds a beautiful finish.

Inspiration!!!

I am always out and about with my camera looking for something interesting to paint, the bottom 3 images I took earlier this week from Whitcliffe common, overlooking Ludlow.
Its pretty sensational. The big majestic Ludlow Castle dominates the view , but then turn slightly to your right and St Laurences Church comes into the picture with Clee Hill behind.
Now all I need is the time to paint all this beautiful scenes!
