Todays Class "Sunflowers"

Today was the first time we had painted the Sunflowers in class.
It was also the first time we had used the new activities room at Helena Lane--everyone found the room ok except for Sam and Jemma whose satnav broke down as they approached Ludlow!
Luckily they had Bill on hand to direct them on the mobile phone, and they were with us in minutes!
I knew this painting would give everyone the chance to be original and unique in their style when painting this one.
We used oils on a chunky 12in x 24in box canvas, and right from the word go-they were all very different!
Little Kaitlin age 7 isn't at all afraid of the paint and goes straight in as soon as Ive shown everyone each stage.
Karen was painting her second painting with me--her first in oils,
everyone else has been several times.
It was very interesting to watch how everyone tackled the sunflowers themselves--we had large ones, small ones fat ones and thin ones!
It was a great painting to do to let everyone find their own individual style.
The time seemed to fly by--the cafe that is in part of the Helena Lane building proved popular with the students who had sandwiches and cakes from there--all very good value for money--and the tuna and cheese melt looked and smelt delicious!
We got a few more dates for classes sorted out -I will put them on here and the website as soon as I have the photos done of the paintings.
