We are going to a new venue this Sunday. Its in a beautiful setting underneath the Clee Hill at Hope Bagot, nr knowbury.
Its an annual event and its got all sorts going on there-a dog show among other things. Also a flower festival in the church. http://www.hopebagot.org.uk/ the website will tell you more.
We will be situated in the village hall, but there are things going on outside in marquees and the church too.
I will be displaying my work as well as demonstrating my oil painting techniques. I will have lots of materials for sale too-oil, acrylics and encaustic materials.
You will be able to have a go at the encaustic painting as well.
It promises to be a lovely day and we are looking forward to it very much.
There is a a park and ride as the road will be closed to traffic as the roads are very narrow.
This is the (Almost) daily diary of a successful, established artist,it follows all the exciting times and the not so exciting times, the ups when the paintings go well and the downs when they don't ( Very Rare!!) Details of up and coming exciting times are all here, as well as the normal day to day living. Join me on this journey to the unknown!

Tranquility In Green

Here is my latest painting "Tranquility In Green" painted in oil onto a large box canvas 100cm x80cm.
You can see the different stages that the painting went through as it evolved.
Very muted shades of sap green, black and white make this a very calm painting.
The cost is £180-if you would like to reserve it -it will be around 3 weeks until it can be posted please get in touch with me via http://www.paintingmyway.co.uk

Busy Weekend Again!"
This is the subject of this Saturdays Class. I have 5 people coming to it so far.Its one of the most popular painting classes that I do
It is a busy weekend--my daughter is moving home on Saturday--we wont be much use to her cos I wont be free until 3ish but my son Jim will be on hand with a big van to help her move the big stuff.
Then we are going out in the evening to wet the babies head-Lyndsey and Darren and little Holly are coming all the way down from Sunderland on Saturday.
Cant have too much to drink cos we are on the craft market on Sunday!!!!!!!
The childrens class is almost fully booked, just 2 places left--the local paper is coming to take some more pics at the class on Saturday--after we came back on Wednesday night and found that the local paper had dug up an ancient pic of me with short hair(YUK) and 2 stone heavier for a otherwise brilliant review of me and my demos at the WI's in Mondays paper.
I am working on some other ideas at the moment-re the kids classes-I have a lot of enquires about other dates for the classes-will keep you posted via email for those interested.

They called by the craft fair, it was great to meet up with her and have a chat and a laugh!
All in all we had a very good day-the weather stayed beautful for us and there was LOADS of visitors about!

Great Encaustic Pic!
I failed to get this talented boys name today as it was so hectic! He painted the most beatiful encastic painting of a butterfly in no time at all!He went away with the full kit of the encastic set and extra wax's and card-I just know I will be seeing more of his work in the future-he was a natural at it!
Within seconds he had reconised that he had the vague shape of one butterflys wing and quickly added another, then the body and some more colour to the wings!

Shobdon Festival

We never seem to set out the paintings the same way twice at these craft fairs!
Here you can see the latest version of Poppy Quartet . Bill has given them a couple of coats of varnish to protect them and they are ready to go on sale.
We have had such a laugh today at the craft fair--no-one is safe from us-we have such fun telling each other about what has happened since the last time we met up--its a real community -the craft fairers.
We all have stories to tell!!!
I could write a book to be honest-one day I might share it with ALL my regular readers-although one or two are already in on it already and waiting for the next episode!!!

It will not be dry in time to take to shobdon, we will be setting up there tomorrow, but it should be dry enough to take to the craft fairs next week! The forcast is not great but we will be in the dry in the marquee. There are lots of busloads of people booked to come to it the organisers have told us , so whatever the weather it should prove to be busy!
