Well today we should have been over in Kidderminster doing a painting party--however as we were getting ready to load the car (we had already decided not to risk the van in the snow) Beth rang us to say it had taken her sister 2 1/2 hours to get to Bewdley which is a few miles from Kidderminster.
So she didnt want us to risk it. We knew it was on the cards after speaking with her yesterday--so the girls are still having a sleepover at the house as they all live locally and we are going to try again on the 28th Dec to do the painting party.
We have had loads of snow again today--and we wouldn't have got back from there if we had chanced it.
We are suposed to be on the market on Wednesday for the last time until March/April but if its still like this we wont be going--its -12 here at the moment!
This is the (Almost) daily diary of a successful, established artist,it follows all the exciting times and the not so exciting times, the ups when the paintings go well and the downs when they don't ( Very Rare!!) Details of up and coming exciting times are all here, as well as the normal day to day living. Join me on this journey to the unknown!

Interesting People
While we were on holiday we called to see a dear friend of ours-fellow artist Steve Gray and wife Barbra.
He is a very talented artist-some of his paintings look like photographs--and his latest of a motor bike just had to be seen to be believed-its absolutly stunning-the chrome work and reflections are unreal.
We were lucky to come away with a gift from Steve of one of his beautiful Elephant paintings which will hang in pride of place with one of Steves other paintings of a church and one of another artist friend Peter Williams.
Im building up a nice collection of art quietly thanks guys!
When we called at Rhayadar to see the kites we met another world famous artist called Dee Doody-what a lovely guy he is.
Loved his wildlife paintings-and was interesting to chat with him about techniques and materials. It was interesting to see him turn his painting upside down at times like some students do in class to make life easier!

Congratulations Peter
One of my online friends Peter Williams has got cause to celebrate today-one of his paintings 'High And Mighty' has been shortlisted for the DSWF Wildlife Artist Of The Year 2010. The competition is open to professionals and amateurs worldwide, there are literally thousands of entries which are judged by a panel.

Peter also has an exhibition coming up soon -wishing him all the best for that too-

The shortlisted entries will be exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London 24th-29th May where they will be for sale. This is a high profile exhibition and anyone who is anyone in wildlife conservation circles will be at the preview evening, where 50% of sales go to the DSWF to help endangered species around the world.
Its come as no suprise to all us artist friends who have watched Peter grow from strength to strength over the past 4 or 5 years-he really is an amazing artist--
