Few Places left in "Yesterday" class July 17th

I have just a few places left in this bright sunset class on July 17th. You will have the choice of reds/oranges, blues/purples, or browns and creams for this workshop.
You will be using acrylic paint on a 36in x 14in canvas, so it will be dry for you to take home.

A lovely painting to do-and the results are always stunning even from first timers.
If you would like to join this workshop please get in touch via the website

First craft fair

Today was the first craft fair of the year.
It was sunny but cold and windy.

It was busier than expected though and I sold Winter Wonderland in the morning and in the afternoon a young couple were looking at my greetings cards when they spotted Cat In a Tree and asked if I had the original painting there--sods law I hadn't-had looked at it the night before when we were loading up the car but decided to take something else instead!

Anyway they were on their way to Fishmoor hall to discuss their forthcoming wedding there and said they would call back later to see the painting after I had sent Bill home to fetch it.
sure enough they came back at 4.30pm for the painting-and loved it.
I sold right out of the cat in a tree cards today as well as several other new ones that Lin did for me-will be in touch for some more soon.
I also booked one more person for the Mellow Moods class making that one defiantly full now with 13 booked in.

Class Of Jan 30th -Summer Day

We had a lovely day today-
The roads were awful-snow and black ice everywhere so was quite surprised the ladies made it to class at all!

Right from the start the paintings were very different-everyone interpreted the way I did the sky and everything else very differently-we had some amazing skies right from the word go.

Claire came for the first time today came along with her mum Cynthia who has been twice before.

Tamara had her class bought her from her hubby for Christmas-and she said it was the best Christmas pressie she had ever had! At the end of class she said she was flabbergasted at her result. She had been looking at the previous students results on my website and had thought she would never be able to achieve the same results!

Celia and Sue who had both been to class together once before had told her she would be delighted with her end results and not to be worried! And they were right of course!

14 year old Sara was back to do her 5th painting. she is joining us again to paint Mellow Moods and Mystical Moon-she will be getting her artist brooch next time .she once again had the prize for the messiest palette--she ended up using mine halfway through! Its an artwork on its own!

Suzanne found the knife work a bit harder than the brushes-being left handed doesn't help there though-but as soon as she found the right pressure to put on it , the waves came along lovely.

It was amazing to see just how quickly the painting came together-with everyone stepping back and admiring each others work as we went along. It never fails to suprise everyone just how the painting comes along so quickly.
We are seeing Celia and Sue again next week for the Birch tree class and Suzanne is coming to paint Yesterday.

The small amount of paint needed to create the picture always suprises everyone-and its lovely at the end of the painting to use a bit more paint than previous to do the poppies!
The ladies all produced some gorgeous textured poppies-they really set off the seascapes-I was trying out some new liner brushes for the grasses-and they worked great-they will be available shortly off my website.

Im really looking forward to seeing everyone again-and we are sending best wishes and hugs to Claire for the future and hope she gets her op soon and all goes well xx

New Bag!

A while ago I bought some material off Ebay-just because it had cats who were also artists on there!
I didn't know what I was going to do with it when I bought it-just knew I liked it!

Anyway I mentioned it passing to a dear friend of mine who is 98 years old--Wyn said bring it down and I will make you a bag with it-went to see her on Monday and she had done it bless her!
Its ideal for taking to the market-I can put my purse, phone and other bits and pieces in there so its really handy!
She is marvellous-she cooks every day- she makes jams, cakes etc--I never come from there empty handed-there is always an apple pie or jar of jam to bring home whenever I see her.
I took her some blackberries last week and this week they were turned into jam and apple and blackberry pies!
She is a star -not long ago she made a cake for her daughters 50th wedding anniversary- she had also made her wedding cake--there are not many who could say the same thing is there?

Leominster Vintage Club

What a day we had yesterday-an early start on the market-up at 6am to get down there and set up early, then back home for quick wash and change and an hours sit down before we were off again to do the demonstration for leominster Vintage club.
Alf had booked me from a recommendation for a lady who had seen me at a WI talk.
He told me that all the members were a great bunch with a good sense of humour, and enjoyed a laugh. We arrived at 7pm to set up-the room was massive-it was at the British Legion Club in Leominster.
We got the stands up with all the paintings on and the tables set out with odds and sods for people to have a look at before Alf and co went through their bits and pieces of the meeting.
There was lots of humorous barracking from members which was nice, then it was my turn!
I'm not sure what people expect when they book me for a demo-they are always astounded when they realise that I will be painting the 2 pictures from start to finish in front of their eyes-I decided to paint Winter Wonderland on the black canvas- and the usual Summer Day on the white canvas.
Lots of questions from people about the technique I have developed, and loads of interest in doing classes.
I was told after the demo that it was the best night they had ever had-what a compliment! And I was told I would be going back there to for another demo.We cant wait! Best fun we have had in ages too!
